“We have grown from a small community initiative into a resilient, strategically positioned organisation that can deliver high-impact programmes. We have strengthened our leadership team, improved governance and built the operational infrastructure needed to manage projects like the Talent Summit, the Diversity Festival and specialised digital and data-skills training. This is thanks to the capacity building and funding support from Next Step Initiative. We now deliver accredited courses, such as vocational qualifications in data science, and have developed financial planning and fundraising strategies to diversify our income and reduce reliance on single funding sources. Our Accelerate BLK programme and other initiatives show that we can design and run complex, capacity-building projects. Our team has gained the confidence, skills and networks to engage with policymakers, corporate leaders and academic institutions at a strategic level, ensuring that our advocacy for equitable opportunities is evidence-based and impactful. Recognition in national awards for our inclusive data-literacy work reflects our improved capacity and sustainability.”
