A stonemason trainee from Africa has carved a stone that is now part of a wall at Glasgow Cathedral—despite having no formal training whatsoever.
Historic Environment Scotland shared the news of this remarkable achievement, carried out by their trainee Stanley, originally from Malawi. He secured the opportunity through the ethnic minority social enterprise, Next Step Initiative.
Based in Ibrox, Next Step Initiative works to empower, improve, and transform the quality of life for African communities in Glasgow and across Scotland.
Stanley believes he was able to accomplish this milestone through a combination of his own passion and determination, alongside the support he received from his colleagues.
