Trainees gained practical experience across multiple functions—curation, conservation, education, archives, and visitor services—within a short period.
3. Small teams create powerful, immersive learning environments
Working within lean organisations allowed trainees to take on diverse responsibilities, contributing directly to real projects rather than observing from the sidelines.
4. The programme builds confidence and professional identity
Many trainees transitioned from uncertainty to seeing themselves as future professionals in the heritage sector, with clearer career direction.
5. Community engagement is at the heart of modern heritage practice
Trainees consistently highlighted their involvement in community outreach, workshops, and inclusive programming, shaping how institutions connect with people.
